Need a Job?

Job programs are social policy.

Feds must “butt out”.

Need a Job?

America has an employment problem.  Jobs have left America.

Bankers, brokers, wall street, and the insurance companies find it more profitable to play mortgage, derivative, markets, default swap, lobbyist, and federal reserve bandit.  It is more profitable.  It is very much more profitable.

This has to stop.  Americans must make real jobs more profitable than imaginary ones.  Real jobs produce usable products that sell on the world market.  How many real jobs are left in America?  Not nearly enough.  It’s time this is corrected.

Before anyone seeks work, they smartly assess their own strong points for the marketplace.  One enters the marketplace selling strong abilities.  It’s the American way.  Why is it any different in the world market?

What is America good at?  Where are strong points?  Where can America succeed in the world market? What does America do best in the world?  What is America really good at?

America has the best government on the planet.  Our democracy is astonishingly successful.  Let’s export democracy.  Oops.  We’re already doing that in Iraq and Afghanistan.  This employs a lot of people, military, soldiers of fortune, and secret service agents.  This stimulus does not produce income.

America has the finest military and security systems in the world.  America is really good at security.  Export military and security systems.  Oops.  America is doing this in Iraq and Afghanistan.  This employs thousands, the pentagon, three armed services, and the military industrial complex.  This stimulus does not produce income.

Democracy and military exports are not enough.  America needs more ideas.  America needs more jobs.

America has the finest highway systems in the world.  America builds and maintains a fabulous road system.  Good roads are scarce in many parts of the world. Export roads. This is opportunity.

America has the finest homes and housing suburbs in the world.  The world needs housing. Export homes and subdivisions.  This is opportunity.

America has the finest education system in the world.  Educate massive numbers of doctors, physical and social scientists, linguists, and engineers.  Become the planet’s educators.  This is opportunity.

America has the finest mail and package delivery systems in the world.  Every country needs good mail and package systems.  Export these systems.  This is opportunity.

America has the finest agricultural systems and products in the world.  Export these systems and products.  This is opportunity.

America has the finest telephone, internet, and communication systems in the world.  Every country needs good communication systems.  Export these systems.  This is opportunity.

The global market has endless opportunities.  Good management and capital investment can employ millions of Americans in desirable jobs creating useful products and services for the world market.

Our government needs a “jobs and export division” that looks exclusively into management and capitalization of new and existing American export industries.  Its mission statement reads:  Create and maintain productive and desirable employment for Americans through exports.

The “jobs and export division” takes advantage of all the above opportunities where private systems are inadequate or in need of help creating good American jobs.

This “jobs and export division” is empowered to design, build, dismantle, and renew  “government option” export industries.  These industries exist solely to provide desirable American jobs through export of useful products and services.  This agency is also empowered to assist existing export industries to provide and maintain American jobs.

The “jobs and export division” maintains a strong research and development program to find global products with planet-wide distribution potential that can employ and maintain American jobs.

The agency is empowered to provide tuition for qualified students or retraining workers willing to sign contracts to work for “government option” or participating private industries to repay tuitions.

Managers of the “jobs and export division” are hired and replaced strictly according to success at providing and maintaining productive and desirable American export jobs.  If any program, government or private, doesn’t create or maintain productive and desirable American jobs, it isn’t part of the “jobs and export division”.

Expand the US department of state with “chamber of commerce” responsibility to open, promote, and encourage national markets for American products of the “jobs and export division”.

A “jobs and export division” works for China.  China’s economy has grown 10% for three decades.  China’s “jobs and export division” grows, expands, and creates jobs.    The pragmatic don’t argue with success.  They emulate and learn from it.

In summary, successful global competition, that employs America’s work force, requires the cooperation of government and private industry.  It requires the formation of “government option” industries, where needed, and private industry stimulus, where needed, with mission to create and maintain good American jobs.

Jobs are a third millennium challenge requiring third millennium government.

Bad service requires more waiters. Fires everywhere requires more fighters. Crime requires more police. Elected oligarchy requires more congresspersons. Elected monarchy requires more presidents. America lacks governance? Keep the congress and add 11k more. Keep the president and add 8 more. Democracy disperses power. Autocracy consolidates power. Step it up, America.  Be proactive. Check out plan-b.
