Middle America Sleeps

“In the jungle, the mighty jungle”, a giant sleeps tonight.

Middle America slumbers, renewing, and re-creating.  It is a natural process, as is awakening.

As middle America sleeps, the world changes.  Eight distant elephants trample noisily closer: war, immigration, ecology, recession, foreclosure, joblessness, tax, and debt.  As the noise increases, the slumber will end.

It is gravely mistaken to under-estimate middle America.  The haze of dreams and fog of sleep are temporary.  Awakening busts boundaries and excuses.  There are no limits, only expanding possibility.  In the jungle, stampedes are not unusual.  Politicians, wall street, and pundits are all at mercy of middle America’s resolve.

Maybe the stampede will pass and the slumber continue.  The jungle never sleeps. Middle America sleeps on its own schedule.   Plan-b can wait.

Bad service requires more waiters. Fires everywhere requires more fighters. Crime requires more police. Elected oligarchy requires more congresspersons. Elected monarchy requires more presidents. America lacks governance? Keep the congress and add 11k more. Keep the president and add 8 more. Democracy disperses power. Autocracy consolidates power. Step it up, America.  Be proactive. Check out plan-b.
